Joy is a licensed graduate social worker pursuing an LICSW licensure. She has been working in the mental health field for over 8 years in various settings including community-based, outpatient, and chidrens mental health day treatment. Joy has a wealth of experience helping clients in the 3-7 age range but works with all clients ages 3 and up with a focus on somatic processing, trauma-focused, and play-based therapies. Joy integrates Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, mindfulness techniques, play therapy, and some aspects of art therapy into her therapeutic practice.
Joy is a dedicated child and family therapist, who strives to create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Grounded in a strengths-based and person-centered approach, her work focuses on honoring each individual's unique story and inner resilience. Joy collaborates with children, adolescents, and families to foster connection, build on existing strengths, and support meaningful growth and healing at their own pace. Joy specializes in working with clients living with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. In her free time, Joy loves to spend time with her family and friends, being outside in the sun, and reading. Joy would describe herself welcoming, warm, and empathetic.
