Susan has been working in the field of mental health for the past 15+ years. She has worked in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, school based therapy and community based therapy. Susan has experience and knowledge working with people of all ages including children ages 5-18, as well as adults and families. She has experience working with individuals who have concerns with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, mood dysregulation, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and life transitions. Susan believes in building a therapeutic relationship and partnership with her clients.
Susan utilizes a range of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, strength based perspective, person centered therapy, and provides skill building through integrating play therapy, mindfulness, and some aspects of art therapy. She believes in the importance of providing a safe and supportive environment to sensitively explore her client’s symptoms and concerns, while also building awareness and skills to assist clients outside of therapy. Life can bring ups and downs, and Susan would be honored to be part of your journey of healing. When Susan isn’t doing therapy, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and furbabies. She enjoys exploring nature through hiking, kayaking, fishing and is up for most adventures. She also finds peace and enjoyment through reading, baking, and learning new things. She finds humor to be one of the best forms of medicine and uses this in and out of her therapy sessions.
