Jacob has been working in the psychology and mental health field for the past four years. Jacob has an extensive background working with children and adolescents in the residential and day treatment settings. He has mainly worked with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Over the past year, Jacob has also worked with families to help them navigate different challenges in the home environment.
Jacob aims to be a person-centered therapist. He mainly focuses on the Rogerian and Gestalt approaches to counseling work. His main goal of therapy is to build the therapeutic alliance in order to facilitate change for the client. Jacob provides a space focused on growth, acceptance, and authenticity. He will also utilize different therapies and techniques such as narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), depending on the client’s specific needs. While Jacob is not doing therapy, he enjoys spending quality time with his significant other. Jacob also enjoys being outdoors in his free time. His main interests are bow hunting, fly fishing, running, and playing guitar.
